is a meditation, yoga and workshop facilitator.
She first came to meditation thru the body via yoga
at the age of 17, following Hittleman and the
traditional Hatha Yoga. She was inspired by Paramahansa Yogananda.
Evalyn continued to study alternative forms of meditation thru her life.
By increasing the knowledge of techniques and increasing the time
in experimenting with meditation she was able to stop the
effects of a crippling illness. In the area of meditation Evalyn
has completed years in Vipasana Meditation with Goenkaji
and Centering prayer with Keating.
Learning to use Yoga
as the meditation she continued Yoga studies of Hittlemen, Mikunda Styles and Bikram Choudhury and tapped into
the creative energy of Revolutionary yoga with Bob Vaccaro.
Evalyn studied the phsyiology of the body and the
psychosomatic effects of mind on body. She continued
her studies in psychodynamics , psychophysics and psychosocial effects in regards to health. Translating
this into spiritual connections, Evalyn increased her
yoga practice to develop her own routines to first
relax the mind, then strengthen the body and then
transition to the deeper meditative states necessary
for healing (the true prayer of silence and stillness
in mind and body). She has more than 2500 hours
of teaching and over 15,000 hours of practice. As a mensa she was drawn to the absolute logic of ACIM.
As a meditation teacher, evalyn, considers herself only a guide
to let others see the inward path as a way to move out from the box
in which thoughts and emotions enclose human beings.
She took her first 21 day silent retreat in the desert of New Mexico
in the year 2000. Ever since she has dedicated her life to healing
on the spiritual plane by frequently tapping into this Thunder of Silence,
where she is rocked free from physical and emotional binds.
Evalyn lends her experiences in how she became asymptomatic
of a debilitating disease using meditation as medication. She will share
her experience on how to get in touch with the Universal Mind which
offers wisdom beyond your imagination. She settles into a loving circle in meditation
to invite all in to see the Power of Love’s transformation. She helps you find the map
to what is simple but not necessarily easy as you learn to break habits, or unlearn what
was learned by an inadequate teacher.
A long time student of ACIM, ancient esoteric wisdoms
of the Mayan, Hindi, Australian Aborigines, Native
Americans of the Southwest and Ancient Egyptians.
A foodie simplified to Nutritionally Dense and healthy
plant based foods as unadulterated as possible.
Evalyn states, ” How can you solve your problem by asking the source that created the problem.
You must seek a new source. How lovely to discover it was with you always.”
in Yoga : Never sacrifice depth for form.
* Notes on above terms:
Eyes Open world: part of the aboriginal philosopy is that the eyes open world is the dream
world and the sleep time is when our Spirit reconnects to the Universal Spirit. This is not
uncommon with many mystical sects of all philosophies and religions. Evalyn coined the word ‘eyes opened world’ to clear any ambiguity of terms. Kriya Yoga states the when
our eyes are open, we loose energy, close our eyes and regain it. When
our eyes are open without conscious looking we are
subconsciously seeing error and making cravings for our self.
We are filling our thoughts with desires.
These desires can be desire to get something or
desire to harm someone or destroy or attack
a situation. By closing our eyes, we begin to see the
true maker of the world in which we initially
became involved and take responsibility for the
world we see.
Where we have responsibility we have
the power to change. By closing our eyes we begin
to create beauty, undo error and claim our
authentic energy. Thus Evalyn’s daily orders :
