We would like to improve the yoga studio with added health benefits beyond the yoga to incorporate the environmental factors.

Therefore we are going with a greener heat that has tremendous health benefits.. As of this writing we will be the only FIR yoga studio in Portsmouth, NH.

What is Far Infrared?

Thermal radiation (or infrared) is a band of energy in the complete electromagnetic spectrum and it has been used effectively for millennia to treat/ease certain maladies and discomforts. Heated saunas are only one of the avenues (and perhaps the oldest) to deliver the radiation in a controlled environment and within a convenient treatment time. With the development of better technology to deliver pure far infrared radiation (FIR), the benefits from its effects have widened. 

What are the benefits?

A growing body of clinical evidence supports the use of far infrared as a non-invasive health-promoting therapy. As far back as 1989, researchers found convincing evidence that when far infrared was applied to local areas or to the entire body, it had a sleep-modulatory effect on patients suffering from insomnia. Additionally, far infrared therapy produced a blood circulation-enhancing effect in human skin.

FIR penetrates up to 2inches in the body and therefore creates a chemical reaction in the body which improves the muscles suppleness and therefore you can go deeper in the pose, with less effort. This action increases the opposition on the bone by the muscles and consequently improves bone density.

Humans require sunlight in order to grow and thrive. Far infrared energy, the safest segment of energy that comes from the sun, offers a wide array of therapeutic benefits for various health conditions. Studies demonstrate that far infrared helps enhance circulation in the skin, modulate sleep, ease pain, protect against oxidative stress, and relieve inflammation. FIR increases temperature of the body , thus elevating motility of fluids which aids in detox, circulation and higher associated health benefits. Far infrared heat can provide relief for individuals seeking to increase flexibility, relieve discomfort, boost circulation, and relieve stress and fatigue.

Oct 1998 Nobel Prize goes to three who studied the positive effects of FIR on the human body. 

Nitric oxide (N=O) is a gas that transmits signals in the organism. Signal transmission by a gas that is produced by one cell, penetrates through membranes and regulates the function of another cell represents an entirely new principle for signaling in biological systems. The discoverers of N=O as a signal molecule are awarded 1998’s Nobel Prize.Three doctors Robert Furchgott, Louis Ignarro and Ferrid Murad received the prize jointly for their research on N=O. It effectively increased dialiation of blood vessels, protects the heart, stimulates the brain, kills bacteria, Relaxes smooth muscles, regulates hormones, and EDRF * promotes smooth muscle relaxing factor.
